Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen liked playing sporting games when she was a kid and was a pro in her sports. It was this passion that was also matched with the natural ability to perform. It was evident by her winning pretty much every Feis awards for drama and performances in the theater that her nation offered. In the year 14 she was accepted into the famed Abbey Theater and pursued her dream of classical theater and operatic singing. Charles Laughton was mesmerized after taking a Maureen screen examination. He was fascinated by the beauty of her eyes. Laughton changed the name of Maureen FitzSimons to Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara", which was a diminutive version of her last name. The name change happened just before Laughton made her a part in Jamaica Inn. Maureen FitzSimons' second movie (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame 1939) was scheduled to be shot by RKO Pictures in America under agreement with Laughton. The contract Maureen signed with Laughton was bought by RKO following the epic film was such a big success. At the age of 19, Maureen had already appeared in two major motion pictures together with Laughton.
