Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was a teacher and her mom was a domestic worker. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started dancing and singing from a young age, and would often perform show-like puppets in front of the children from her neighborhood. Following her win in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see whether McCormick was interested in getting into the entertainment industry. McCormick had her first significant task when she was cast as a television character in the 1964 commercial of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. In the same year, she was featured in a second commercial on television for Chatty-Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the part of Wind It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1200 auditioning children to play the third of three head-to-head daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) with Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons and The Brady Bunch was an enormous successful one. McCormick revealed her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick was close to losing her Virginity to Barry Williams during the five-year run in the series. He was 19. She was 16. The woman said it might have been possible, but we never had the right moment to make the decision.
